Growing up in Chicago, summers were EVERYTHING. Nothing compared to the feel of warmth after enjoying winter until sometime in February. And then, surviving winter as it held on far too long into what was really meant to be Spring. Is it really snowing in May?
So when the first signs of warm weather appeared recently, it was an occasion to celebrate. And where better than at my daughter's & my favorite icecream parlor on wheels...Twirl & Dip.
Forget that the truck is hipper and sweeter than any you have ever seen. Note the polka dot curtain in the driver's window. Forget, but be impressed by, the line twisting around the truck causing us to change our order as we see each one, looking more delicious than the last, come off the truck in front of us.
Simply focus on the soft serve, twist cones made of Strauss Creamery ingredients. Or the lovely fresh fruit popsicles with huge chunks of fruit still present. And then, of course, the milk shakes, chocolate toppings--I could just go on and on, like the line near the truck.
But don't take my word for it; just look at my sweet daughter's face...a picture is worth a 1000 licks!
